Hello and Welcome to My Herb Shop!

My name is Morteza Aleali. I am the proud owner of this natural herbal pharmacy. I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). I am a licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) and an herbalist. I earned my Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine in 1994 from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) in Portland, Oregon. I had the unique opportunity of working with Dr. Wei Tak Cheung, who was one of the pioneers of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the state of Oregon. Working with him gave me a totally new outlook on life, health and healthy living. I try to incorporate his philosophy in my work as much as I can.

What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?

The Chinese have researched the use of herbs to promote health more than any other culture in the world with a health system perfected over 3000 years. This system is called Traditional Chinese Medicine. The ancient Taoists believed that, in order to achieve longevity and personal fulfillment, one needs to live in harmony with the nature. They believed that the human body is a microcosm of the natural world around us. Therefore, the same forces that create and affect the cycles of nature also influence the human body and mind. TCM in general includes: Acupuncture, use of medicinal herbs, diet and nutrition, healthy lifestyle practices such as meditations, Qi gong and Tai qi that emphasizes balance in all aspects of life.
